Eltern sollten ihren Kindern erklären, dass sie durch die Hausaufgaben das erworbene Schulwissen festigen und vertiefen können. Dabei ist es wichtig, dass nicht die Eltern, sondern das Kind die Hausaufgaben eigenständig erledigt.
So merkt das Kind selber, ob es den Schulstoff verstanden hat oder ob es Hilfe benötigt und in der nächsten Schulstunde noch mal nachfragen muss. Doch nicht nur das Kind, sondern auch der Lehrer erhält ein Feedback und ist somit über die Stärken und Schwächen des Kindes informiert und kann im Unterricht auf die Fortschritte oder Lücken des einzelnen Schülers oder der gesamten Klasse eingehen.
